1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering as a freelancer on Ubuntu Connect, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, which govern your access to and use of the platform. Failure to adhere to these terms may result in account suspension or termination.

 

2. Account Registration
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and keep your profile updated. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Account sharing is strictly prohibited.

 

3. Profile and Conduct
You must conduct yourself professionally and honestly at all times. Misrepresentation of your skills, experience, qualifications, or identity is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination. Ubuntu Connect reserves the right to verify any information you provide.

 

4. Fees and Payments
You agree to pay the subscription fee applicable to your chosen membership tier. A 10% platform service fee will be deducted from the total amount of each successfully completed job. You acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for any additional transaction fees imposed by your financial institution or payment method provider for receiving funds. These external fees are determined solely by your bank or payment provider and are not controlled by Ubuntu Connect.

 

5. Communication and Conduct
To ensure safety, quality, and dispute resolution, all communication with clients must be conducted through the Ubuntu Connect messaging system. Any attempt to solicit or conduct business outside of the platform before a contract is formally completed is a material breach of these terms and may lead to account suspension.

 

6. Job Completion and Payment Release
You are obligated to deliver work that meets the specifications and quality standards agreed upon with the client in the project brief. Payment for completed work will be released from escrow only upon the client's final acceptance. Ubuntu Connect's support team will serve as the final arbiter in any payment disputes.

 

7. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a disagreement with a client, you agree to participate in good faith in Ubuntu Connect’s formal dispute resolution process. You are required to provide all relevant evidence, including project briefs, communication records, and submitted work files.

 

8. Refunds and Cancellations
If a project is canceled by the client before significant work has commenced, any funds held in escrow will be refunded to the client. In cases of client dissatisfaction, refunds may only be granted after a formal dispute resolution process determines that the delivered work materially failed to meet the agreed-upon standards.

 

9. Intellectual Property
Upon the client's full payment for the accepted work, all intellectual property rights for the delivered work are transferred to the client. You retain the right to display the work in your personal portfolio unless otherwise agreed upon in writing with the client.

 

10. Privacy and Data Security
Your use of data is governed by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for handling any client-provided information confidentially and are prohibited from disclosing or using it for any purpose outside of the specific project it was provided for.

 

11. Modifications to Terms
Ubuntu Connect reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions, our fees, or our policies at any time. We will provide notice of such changes, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

 

12. Termination
Ubuntu Connect reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately for breaches of these terms, fraudulent activity, or any conduct that harms the platform or its community.

You may post jobs free of charge. You agree to provide clear, complete, and truthful project descriptions, including scope, requirements, deadlines, and budget. Misleading, fraudulent, or abusive postings are strictly prohibited.

 

4. Payment and Fees
All payments for services must be processed exclusively through Ubuntu Connect’s secure payment gateway. Any attempt to solicit or make payments outside the platform is a material breach of these terms.
You acknowledge that your financial institution may apply standard transaction fees for payments processed through our platform. These fees are solely determined by your bank and are not imposed or controlled by Ubuntu Connect.

 

5. Communication and Conduct
To ensure safety, quality, and dispute resolution, all communication and file transfers related to projects must remain on the Ubuntu Connect platform. Any attempt to move communications or business off the platform before a contract is completed may result in penalties or account suspension.

 

6. Project Acceptance and Completion
You agree to review delivered work promptly and either approve it or request changes based on the original project brief. Full payment for the project is released to the freelancer only upon your final acceptance of the completed work.

 

7. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds for canceled projects are available as per the Ubuntu Connect Cancellation and Refund Policy. Refunds based on dissatisfaction with delivered work are subject to our dispute resolution process and are only considered if the work materially fails to meet the agreed-upon specifications outlined in the project brief.

 

8. Intellectual Property
Upon your full payment and acceptance of the work, all intellectual property rights for the delivered work are transferred to you, the client. Any unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of a freelancer's work before payment and acceptance is prohibited.

 

9. Privacy and Data Security
Your use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for protecting any confidential information shared with you by freelancers and are prohibited from sharing it outside the platform.

 

10. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a disagreement, you agree to participate in Ubuntu Connect’s formal dispute resolution process. Both parties are expected to provide all relevant evidence, including platform communication and work product, to facilitate a fair resolution.

 

11. Platform Updates and Modifications
Ubuntu Connect reserves the right to modify these terms, our fees, and our policies at any time. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

 

12. Termination
Ubuntu Connect reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account for breaches of these terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms our community.
